Writing meme — Day 21
Today was a lazy day I spent watching Gordon Ramsay being awesome. Something that puzzled me though, so unsurprisingly in the US version of Kitchen Nightmares, they censor every 'shit' and 'fuck' but they don't censor 'bitch'? Personally, I'd consider bitch much more offensive than any shit or fuck. But well, to be honest, I'd rather hear Gordon's uncensored diatribes so bless the UK version (even though there's less drama than in the US one).

21. Are you the kind of person who starts from an idea, write, then choosing the scenario along the road? Or are you more likely to plan it all before beginning to write, even if you have to step away from your original plan after?

Oh, I like that question, that's a very interesting one! I always start from a idea, something that seems interesting and I want to explore, or some silly bet to myself. It also comes with a list of themes/ideas I want to include in the text. These key points can be scenario-related (like the text's ending), or it can be more general things, like featuring Doctor/Jack, or making some character appear. Generally, I can plan something with the key points, from a vague scenario to something very detailed. So, the question is 'how to get from point A to point B?' and 'how will I include this or that?'.

You know how I'm always complaining about things getting out of hand? That's because I never step away from my original plan. It doesn't mean they are stilled in any way, it's just that I bend them to include all the things I discover along the way. Wild plot appear? Okay, no problem. I'll find a way to integrate them into the plan. So it's inevitable I have to take detours and things end up getting out of hand, and something that should've been around 4,000 words, 5,000 to the most ends up being 15,000 words+.

Gordon Ramsay is soooo coool! I can never get enough of him XD As for the bitch thing, maybe the editors let it slip, I don't know. Weird~

Yeah, if it's too 'boring', as in not enough restrictions/rules, I won't be able to bring myself to write because it won't be interesting to write; seems like I like headdesking and complaining a bit too much XD
