I don't know why the hell I thought doing tis or tat was a good idea. So, I was cleaning the tags a bit (separating the meme tag actually) and I decided it was time to get rid of the twitter tag, which was some kind of vestige from the time I had the horrible idea to link my twitter account to my El-Jay. I know the reason: I wasn't active on El-Jay and it was a way to keep 'posting'. Fortunately sometime in 2013, I realized how stupid the idea was. Anyway, thanks to stupid decisions, I just had to manually delete 83 fucking entries! I'm never doing that again! XD

Anyway, on Monday, I ended buying two games; they were really too cheap not to be bought (second hand games but I really don't care because there are old and cheap). First one is Yoshi Touch & Go, a cute platform game starring my second favorite Nintendo character (first being Boo, of course). I was a bit disappointed because there isn't a real story: I mean, with multiple stages. It's four modes + multiplayer and it's a bit limited, but still funny. Didn't play long though because of the second game.

And that's Professor Layton and the Curious Village. So rapidly, Professor Layton is a puzzle adventure game series for DS/3DS. So we basically follow archeologist Hershel Layton and his apprentice's adventures (solving mysteries). The graphics, music and animation are really clean and lovely. Check this out to have an idea of all the things I'm speaking about.

So, my first surprise with the game was during the opening cinematic, when I heard Layton and Luke's voices and it felt wrong because I was used to the French dub (which I still prefer over the English one, although I'm fond of Layton's accent) since I'd already played to the Lost Future and the Specter's Call, 3rd and 4th games of the series. But the Curious Village is the 1st installment and that's an EU version, not a FR so means the only dub is the English one.

But the very annoying thing, which I'm very able they changed in later games is about the gameplay. Image on the left comes from the Lost Future. See the memo option on it? When you activate it, the screen becomes like in the right image (it's from another enigma, but the memo doesn't change). It allows you to scribble and take notes, which is quite necessary when you're searching for the answer. Also, like that, you won't end up using the submit option by mistake because you were scribbling on the screen and put your stylet on it without knowing (you loose points if your answer is wrong).

Now, the image below is from the Curious Village. Yeap. No Memo option. And I can't even use the notes mode from the 3DS because it's a DS game and the feature only works with 3DS games. And I can't even scribble on the screen in every enigmas.

So it can be a real hassle. Just like when I have to do calculus. Ugh. Really glad they corrected it in later games, because right now, I'm losing so much time/points because I can't scribble to my heart's content.

Apart from that, I'm having a great lot of fun! *grins*

I need to get my hands on that one. I have 'Diabolical Box', and loved it.

Life? What life? I think traded mine with games long ago. I even have a pile of those waiting for me. But really, it's the same as books. I finish one and I buy others. Then I complain I've got nothing to play to XD

The missing options sounds pretty annoying, but glad you're still having fun! :D

It's annoying as hell. And writing/drawing is a big part of my thinking process so when I can't do, it's so unnerving.

That'll never stop me from enjoying the game though :)

Sucks :/ But yeah, as long as you can still enjoy! :)
