Oh look, it's finally there
So, it's longer than what I expected, but I suspect that all the hums and small pauses take one third of the whole thing XD And I hope you could understand everything, I've got a bit of a case of a mouth running wild while brain is struggling to start itself. Anyway, at least I hope you enjoyed it, even if I have to admit I didn't try very hard. I did enjoy speaking to myself for nearly half an hour though XD

I didn't realise it was a voice meme which means record own voice !
Well .. I think I will not do the meme... *hate recording myself because a lot of reasons*
Fealilia_purpurea on June 17th, 2014 10:49 am (UTC)
Maybe you can do it in a text post instead of recording it, it'll still be cool ^^

yaaaaay =D

very cool and pleasant to listen to, I'll make sure to read Beautiful Chaos when I'm done with Good Omens since you already recommended it to me and I have it on my bookshelf xD

Your voice is so deep, I don't know if it's English or the recording but it sounded deeper than usual, haha.

I'm sure you'll love Beautiful Chaos!

And I think, it's because of English, I don't really know XD

Hahaha, your brain like cheese, I love that ;) I love your accent/voice! ♥
The -escence thing is pretty cool! Clever and beautiful.
History ftw! It's lovely, how passionate you are about Paris =)
Love the story about how you got into DW too! LOL to the late discovery about time travel and it being a sci-fi show :D And yay, you loved the show and Nine from the start ♥
ROFL, you put Mr. Clever as your favourite Doctor! Love it! ♥ All the love for Nine as well! AND WILF ♥ Wilf is a beautiful thing.
The story you pimped sounds like it has really great insight! :) Love to see character dynamics explored like that…
Haha, that comment was a bit scattered/pointless but never mind :D Thanks for doing the meme! It was lovely hearing you!

Yeah, that wouldn't be fun if he was efficient all the time, would it?

Omg, Paris is so the love of my life (with London, but since Paris is based on 19th London, no surprise there XD).

I still don't know how I did not to realize that. Yeah, I was so lost. But the premises seemed already so interesting: time travel, alien genius, ugh. Just so cool!

The male companions are such beautiful things in DW. Not that the women aren't, but well, I don't know. Maybe they generally haven't as much screen time as the women. I just more easily root for them (gods, I can almost Tumblr scream "internalized misogyny XD).

As for Beautiful Chaos. Ugh. It's just so beautiful. And Wilf is one of the narrators. Just for this, you should read it.

Messy comments are okay! o/ I'll certainly not complain about messy when I'm far worse than you XD

True! ;)

You bet! Funnily enough I wasn't that drawn to that, because I wasn't that much into sci-fi in TV and the like (or not anymore), but I started watching because several friends of mine advertised the show, and I was hooked from day one… I started with Tennant though, because I already knew him from Harry Potter ;) But then I went back for Eccleston. Nineeeee. ♥

Male companions are rarer, so it does feel more special… Don't pay attention to the Tumblr screaming! XD Always reading the worst implications into everything. It's different with classic!Who (well, the oldest episodes) because the male companions are so much more action-oriented and less fleshed-out. Then again, the girls are often less badass and screaming a lot. XD It's the 60's. Wonderful show already, but one can't look at old television and expect modern standards of female empowerment.

*high fives* :D

I had completely forgotten that Tennant was in Harry Potter at the time. I was just sort of "the guy's got a familiar face... silly me, of course, he's got a familiar face. He's all over Tumblr" XD It's quite sad that Nine is often forgotten or frowned upon, he's so perfect ♥

I never pay attention to the Tumblr screaming XD Or reading things that aren't here, or taking some problematic things but bringing them up to eleven (like SPN supposedly queer-baiting).

I don't think the girls are less badass, just more reserved and tend to let the men decide in the end, but the guys listen to them. Doesn't mean they aren't strong female characters. After, I've only seen the beginning of the First Doctor, and first episode of Robot, but I don't think there really are bad female companions (regardless of whether I like them or not). And yeah, Susan is always screaming and killing my ears in the process. I like her but, gods, stop screaming XD

Also, I might prefer the guys because I identify more easily with them than with the girls. Also, I completely sympathize with the shit some of them had in the beginning, like Mickey or Rory.

Hahaha—not surprised, I mostly remembered so much because I was a dark-side/Bellatrix Lestrange nutter and thus clearly remembered Barty Crouch, I loved the character, too ;)

Nine is way underrated, thank goodness he's got us to love him! ♥

Sounds like the best attitude, so many things are better left ignored ;)

That sounds true about the girls. It's just the screaming syndrome that irks me a bit ;) I didn't mean that they were bad characters, but they're certainly more reserved, as you said, and it doesn't help that they're often young, inexperienced girls at the beginning, One certainly has that grandfatherly dynamic going and it carries on later in a different shape with Two and Victoria. I prefer those who are a bit older, more experienced and have more of an equal dynamic with the Doctor (Barbara, one-time Sara Kingdom) or sassier ones (Vicki! ♥). I like them all though. And now that I got all of this out there, I still like the girls better than the men because of the aforementioned action-oriented thing that kind of makes for less subtlety. *shrugs* Still a great show. It's so much fun to see the evolutions actually :D

Are you planning to see more of it? Yay, you started at the beginning, too :D (I've seen s1 to s5, so One and most of Two…)

I understand that, I really love Mickey and Rory too ♥ And I hate how they got treated sometimes, lol. I was going to say "at the beginning" too, but s2!Rose's treatment of Mickey annoyed me even more (I have a few problems with s2!Rose…) so yeah. XD For Rory though, it definitely gets better with time. Thank god! XD
