Today was a pretty good day
Finally went to do some shopping for Mother's Day (in France, it's tomorrow). It's nothing fancy really, just a book about the Silk Road with some nice photographies. Grabbed the Justice League, vol. 3 (that's Throne of Atlantis. It got released in April here) on my way and! I met two friends when I was getting out of the shop and back home. We decided to eat together and done plenty of catching up over some excellent curry rice in Opera.

On a whole other topic, the EU elections are tomorrow and like always, I made a point of reading all the parties' pamphlet: I'm curious and there always are very funny things. My personal favorite is Force Vie (Force Life). The whole thing is pretty funny but this is priceless XD

“The fondamental principles which we want to build the EU on are [...] neither outdated nor trendy : they are deeply human!”

YES to a family built on the mariage of a man and a woman [...] [let's put a] Stop to imposed harmful (well, the exact word was mortiferous) ideologies coming from gender studies.”

OMFG, really? That's their platform?! I swear the translation IS hilarious, but...really?

Your icon cracked me up XD

Well seeing that it's a religious party (what a surprise), in terms of economy there's almost nothing. Basically they want to rid of the euro as a common money. They still want to use it for international exchange and "the Euro-Franc to develop French's purchasing power and the growth [of what isn't written]". This idea just sounds really horrible.

The other thing that made me laugh was the "YES to the creation of an alliance of civilisation with Latin America". What the hell is "an alliance of civilisation"?

There's nothing about ecology either. But really, on the twenty to thirty-something pamphlets I've read they are the only ones that brought up abortion, euthanasia (no to the two) and mariage.

Check your priorities, guys.

I don't know whether to laugh hysterically or cry at this point. What is UP with the political world lately?!

*hysterical fits of laughter*

There's another where I knew something was wrong the moment I read its name: Popular Republican Union. I don't know why but I just knew. It's a little like if children had written their pamphlets. They want to get out of the EU and...

"It's perfectly possible to get out of the EU peacefully and legally (article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty), which only the PRU really offers. Every other parties only offer to “renegociate the treaties”, go check their pamphlets!"

I thought I'd die laughing when I read them this morning.

If you what some "wtf French elections" : in 2012, Cheminade claimed that if he was elected president, French people will settle on Mars.
And he was serious about his proposition.

(Sorry for my English ><)

OMFG...that is PRICELESS. What a cracked egg, my gods. *CACKLES* I'd've elected him just to see if he COULD. Wow.

Your English is better than my own, sweetie. Trust me on that. *Beams*
