I'm doing the yearly writing meme, just like last year
Word count: 47,968 of published stuff. If I had to count everything written on notebooks and all the editing, it be more akin to 70,000 words.

Overall Thoughts: The word count is mediocre compared to last year (140,000+ words). That being said, I must take in account I haven't got as much time to write as I used to because of school. And I haven't even written since september. I'm a bit disappointed in myself but it could be worse. Positive thing is that I got much better in English seeing I've been writing almost only in English this year. Speaking of writing goals, I haven't completed much: if I didn't start new series, I haven't even finished editiing last year's NaNo (amongst all the stuff I need to work on).

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted? Less than I wanted. Even though I expected school to take a lot of my time, I largely underestimated how dedicated I'd be and how much time I'd need to do my homework. Still I wrote more fics I expected, and got nowhere with all the wips I wanted to work on XD

Where did you publish/archive your stories? Like usual. Livejournal, ff.net and AO3.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never predicted in January 2014? I didn't want to write for Doctor Who because of all the wips I already had *snorts*

What's your own favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? Well, it's the most popular, but A Time to Die, A Time to Build makes me extremely happy. I had done a very short fic about Doctor Who before (a prompt fic) but this is the first I've really worked on. I needed to make sure to answer to the prompt, as well as make the plot I had in mind work. And keeping the character ic (I'm always a bit nervous in that regards for first fics). I put lots of researches and efforts into it, and well, that worked. It's not an über-popular fic, but I got lots of heartwarming comments.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I think writing for Doctor Who was a bit of a risk. Not because I had just watch the show for the first time, but because it's an old fandom with a very large universe. And I'm a perfectionist as far as researches are concerned because I wanna write things that are believable. Fortunately, most of the time, it works. Also, writing a non-conventional threesome was a bit of a risk.

My best story of this year It's not a popular story at all, but I'm very proud of Flux. It's not the writing quality itself (which isn't bad but I feel like I've done better) but all the world building and scenario itself are strong (it helps it's the squel to Liminality).

Okay, NOW your most popular story Hmmm, Melting Pot is fairly popular and is the one with the most views, but I don't know exactly how much I got this year (it's from 2013 and it's an OS collection). But I think A Time to Die, A Time to Build is my most popular one.

Most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Meh, when I write, I often have an general idea of how it'll be received. Also, I might have more readers if I did some efforts to make summaries that actually tell something about the story. The positive thing with that is that, when people read and take the time to comment, most of the time, they really liked the story. In that regards, I don't think I've got an underappreciated story.

Story that could have been better: I'm working on the ones that could be better.

Most fun story: The OS for Melting Pot are often funny. Also, Tic Tac Boom because it's fun to make fun of the Doctor and entertaining as fuck to write Mr. Clever.

Sexiest story: Allegretto, though I don't really think of it as a sexy story even though it's smut.

Story with single sweetest moment: Duh. Again, A Time to Die, A Time to Build. It's a very sweet fic of some sort if you don't count all the mind fuck and mind rape. Really.

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: ATtD (because I'm tired to use the whole title). Yes, again. I've done worse, but making the Doctor mind rape the villain was still very wrong of me. I don't regret though.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: As usual, writing a character often make me appreciate them more. Even truer with Eleven, whom I didn't really like before writing him. I could even say that I learnt to love him (whereas the other Doctors were an instant hit. I can't even blame Moffat because Twelve).

Hardest story to write: Flux was a hell to write. Ugh. The plot wasn't happening how I wanted it to. It just would not advance and it took me forever to get to where I wanted. Not even in a good way. I sincerely wanted to bash my head against a table multiple times.

Easiest story to write: Provisory title is 'Clara stuff'. I think I mentioned it a while back. It's still unedited but I like it and it was pretty fast to write.

Most overdue story? ROFL. As usual, all my wips. Liminality is the worst offender though, seeing that it's not a wip. And I still haven't finished editing it. I blame Doctor Who for that.

Biggest surprise: Saying 'writing for DW' would be a big fat lie, so I'm gonna say not writing at all since school started.

Favorite Opening Line(s):

Jack wasn’t pleased to wake up to blazing pain. His killer hadn’t even taken the time to push his body out of the way, leaving him in the middle of the control room and going back to checking the screens. He could feel him stepping over his body as the alien went from one visual display unit to the other, the brush of their long hair-tentacles trailing on the ground. In another context, there was no doubt Jack would have loved to test the flexibility of the supple cartilage-based scalp of the Kephlins. (ATtD)

It’s not that he’s jealous, the Doctor thinks as he waves goodnight to Clara. Only humans from the mildly primitive ante-23th century are jealous when their lovers go running around. And this is Jack Harkness. Of course he’d swoon Clara easily, even more easily than he’d captured Rose’s attention. But, the Doctor is also aware that Jack is cheating; he deduced since long that Jack already had his way with his Impossible Girl somewhere in the future. (Allegretto)

Favorite Closing Line(s):

'He put his hands in the air in defeat, and proceeded to explain, “They don’t have to see you naked though. Snap some fucking clothes on and we’ll go.”' (Flux)

'He had to admit that Fornax wasn't much of a reference though.' (Blindness of an airhead) Okay, you'll need a bit of a context for that one. So, fandom's Mass Effect and it's a Shepard/Garrus fic. Shepard being human and Garrus an alien. The first courts the later but Garrus isn't very receptive to Shep's attempts. Fornax is a human xenophilia porn magazine (supposed to offer 'full five-sensory stimulation' by the way. I know someone would be very interested in that *not looking at icon at all*).

Top Scenes from Anywhere You Would Choose to Have Illustrated: I've got my favorite scene from Flux illustrated already, which is so damn great: Gabriel merged with Loki and he's (well, the new entity) discovering his wings. I'd really really love to see the mechanical Cleverlephant in Tic Tac Boom illustrated. But really, any kind of illustration would be great.

Most revealing story: Last year I answered Liminality, but this year, I don't know what to answer because, duh, revealing what?I mean other that the fact I like making my characters suffer (and always, annoying the Doctor, a lot). I don't think there's a fic where the Doctor hasn't been lectured in one way or another by the other characters XD

A story I want remembered: None. I mean, I might not have a plethora of recs but I don't really care. It's not like nobody see them either and I won't mind if they forget it after reading, I've got enough memory to remember them plenty.

Story I haven't yet written, but intend to: Lulz. The number of wips is far too high XD As is the number of ideas I got.

Fic-writing goals for 2015: the GBB. And more generally, just writing.

Those memes are always pretty interesting! Good luck with the writing this year, dear :) (And the WIP's! ;))
